School Tour 2017

Posted on: 12/06/2017

Senior Infants visited Knockreer Education Centre on our school tour this year. We had an action packed and fun-filled day, including a bug hunt, mammal trapping, learning about predator and prey relationships, using microscopes, and we even went pond dipping. We saw many different animals and lots of bugs. We were so good that we got an ice-cream at the end of the day.

We have been learning all about plants and gardening during Aistear time in May. We worked in our Garden Centre and flower shop, we planted seeds, painted and drew colourful flowers, played Bingo and memory games to help us to remember the names of different flowers and gardening equipment and even our library corner was filled with garden themed books.

Very special visit from some baby animals

Senior Infants had a very special visit from some baby animals this spring. Our first visitors were two friendly, lively puppies who were thrilled to meet all of the boys and girls and to have a look around our classroom. Lucky us.

Aistear – The Doctor’s Surgery

Senior Infants have been very busy throughout March working in the Doctor’s/Dentist’s Surgery. We checked temperatures, bandaged limbs, wrote out prescriptions, cleaned and flossed our teeth and took x-rays of our arms, among many other fun activities. Many thanks to all of the parents who sent in equipment for us to use during our Aistear time.Based on these pictures we may even have some medical personnel of the future among us!
