Fossa N.S. 2-10
Glenderry N.S. 2-7
Fresh from a well fought victory over Lisivigeen in the Cumann na mBunscoil Urban 3 final last week, Fossa boys took to the road this morning once more to Caherslee, Tralee. Our opponents were Glenderry N.S., Ballyheigue in the Division 1 County Semi Final.
This was a meeting of champions as Glenderry N.S. had won the 6-7 teachers division against Currow N.S. last week. In a tough cagey first half, points were shared but Glenderry N.S. went in at half time 1-4 to 0-3 in front. Glenderry N.S. had all the momentum at the start of the second half and scored 1-1 without reply. With our backs to the wall, Fossa dug deep and started to turn the tables. We started to dominate the kick outs and scored great 4 points without reply. Two great goals for Fossa N.S. half way through the second half and it was game on. Fossa finished the strongest with some excellent defending in the last few minutes. We held on, winning by three points to keep the dream alive. There was joyous scenes when the referee blew the final whistle as their incredible second half performance where they showed grit, determination and a never say die attitude got them over the line. Next up for the boys is a division 1 county final after midterm. We are so proud of every single one of our boys. Fossa abú.
Many thanks to Mr Russell , Mrs Murphy , Mr Kenny and Mr Rice for the hard work and dedication to our lads .
